A brand that rocks the cradle city

The brand was born in 2003, a brainchild of Dr. Yule Garcia-Quiampang. The idea was to create an extensive array of wellness packages and skin treatments for Ilonggos – the first of its kind here. Since then, Skinetics continuously reinvents its line of spa management and services to address the needs and demands of its growing clientele here and across the region.

In 2011, Skinetics Wellness Center expanded its existing medical spa services to include the first Kids’ Spa, Hydrocolonics, and Cosmetic Surgery. The expansion paved the way for the brand to have its much-owned building – the YGQ Building across Ayala Techno Hub in Smallville Complex, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

The establishment is a glass-cased, five-story edifice which also houses Ohana Japanese Restaurant at its ground level. At Ohana, hotel guests and patrons enjoy a medley of authentic Japanese cuisines such as ramen, udon, soba, and more.

A year later, Skinetics is nominated as one of the top medical Spa in Asia in the year 2012 – a great feat for an Ilonggo brand. It wasn’t long until the spa had its first extension in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique in 2014.

Of course, when Megaworld launched its township in Iloilo, Skinetics put up another extension at Emperador Building, Megaworld Iloilo.

Urban sanctuary

The architecture and interiors were sublime. It completed the sense of solitude as the spa integrated an Asian-tropical approach for a calm and relaxing environment. Their chic receiving lobby has that holistic Asian-inspired design accentuated with lots of bamboo-backed Yodda Chair made by Cebuano furniture-manufacturer Kenneth Cobonpue.

These visual treats are complemented by the warm and friendly welcome of the reception staff and the very hands-on owners.

Skinetics also has that modern and stylish design, with spacious accommodations for the clientele. It’s quite unique in a sense because it brings the style of two regions together while preserving distinctive Filipino ornamentations.

Of course, it reminds me of Bali, Indonesia with all the wooden Balinese Buddha carvings giving off peace and tranquility in the place. The use of Indonesian bangkiray hardwood in the spa seemed to be present in its accents.

I mean, I could be wrong, and it could be mahogany, but the authenticity seemed to be there. Once again, I’m just trying to write this review.

As Bali serves as a reclusive getaway for intrepid travelers, Skinetics is an urban sanctuary. Heck, Ilonggos don’t need to travel far to de-stress.

Health and wellness is their priority

The Spa area, at the third level, is a haven for people seeking refuge from the stressful demands of daily routine. Guests can choose from a range of therapeutic and pampering treatments to medical extensive care.

Relax your mind and soothe your senses with several stress reduction packages that include the traditional Thai, Filipino Hilot, Balinese, and Bamboo massage among others.

Skinetics also offers a wide assemblage of the latest non-invasive technology to address all skin and beauty concerns. A fully-equipped operating room for cosmetic and ambulatory surgery at the fifth level offers privacy and comfort for various surgical needs of its clients.

The Wellness Center revels in their Hydrocolonics treatment as they are the first to offer it in Iloilo. According to Skinetics, the Hydrocolonics procedure gently cleanses the colon by flushing it with sterile water – so that gas, waste products, and other toxins would be removed from the body.

They also told YOU CREATE ILOILO that the center also has a live blood analysis where one’s nutritional status is assessed by appraising a fresh specimen through a microscope and is shown through a screen monitor.

Whether you’re here for reconstructive cosmetic surgery or detoxification, guests are well taken care of by Skinetics medical personnel in this relaxing spa setting.

And at the end of every pampering session, guests are served with Skinetics Pandan Tea, specially formulated by the owner, Mr. Rommel Quimpang.

Kids need to de-stress too!

Kids, like adults, get stressed and need a break as well. Situated on the ground floor, the Kid Spa – another first of its kind in Iloilo! It offers a variety of spa treatments tailored fit for your kids. Let your restless little ones relax and enjoy a list of SPAntastickiddie treatments like SPAntastic kiddie massage, Rapunzel experience, Superman super hand and foot experience, and Cinderella’s Royal Hand and Foot Treatments among others.

A boutique hotel as well

Skinetics Wellness Center also takes pride in its well-appointed superior rooms and suites, located on the 4th and 5th floors. The boutique hotel has four superior rooms, three presidential suites, and a 3-bedroom family suite, too.

The rooms and suites offer unparalleled comfort and luxury for locale and ex-pats who are in the mood to stay overnight or have a hideaway vacation. All guests are treated to a welcome foot massage right in the comfort of their rooms or suites.

So, come and surrender yourself to the Skinetics Wellness Center brand of service. Trust us, you’re in good hands and are competently well-taken care of, making you savor your treatment more.

Skinetics is an accredited establishment by the Department of Tourism. It is also their deepest wish to promote the traditional Filipino Hilot Massage not only within the country but internationally as well.

My take

It’s still my favorite spa! Reduce stress with their relaxing body massage! However, I prefer their therapeutic massage (deeper rolls and harder kneads) because I need it due to the nature of my work. You can add body scrub to complete the experience and also some steam bath and sauna for options.

Their hand and foot treatment prices start at P350 and up, I think. They have a tootsie footsie treatment, hand care, sole care, and more. I find it ticklish but that’s just me.

You can also avail of spa packages which I mentioned consist of scrub and massage. And facial too. I forgot the price range, it’s somewhere around P1,600+ for a three-hour pampering treatment.

I have tried their slimming and contouring services (RF) which I found very effective. It was painful and ticklish at times.

I have yet to try their skin clinic and hydrocolonics services.

At the end of each session and treatment, they’ll give you their famous pandan tea that I always take seconds.

My family has tried their boutique hotel, but I haven’t. The rooms were clean and complete with amenities. You can go down to their Japanese restaurant for breakfast.

It can be noisy in the evenings, but at the same time, they have great soundproof thingy.

You might think their prices are high, but it equates to the quality of services they’ve given you. I swear.
