Ingredients:

  • 2 lb. pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup banana catsup
  • 1 cup clear soda
  • ¼ cup calamansi juice
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Mix all of the fixings in a bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and allow the pork to marinate in the spices and sauce mix for 1 hour or overnight.
  2. When ready, thread the pork pieces onto bamboo skewers. Soak the skewers in water beforehand to help keep them from burning during the grilling process.
  3. Heat the grill. Grill the barbecue until both sides are done, turning a couple of times over, and basting leftover sauce each time.
