IFFI officials take oath, unveil plans for Dinagyang 2020

Elected officers and board members of the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI) took their oaths on September 16, at Hotel del Rio. The organization is set to organize Dinagyang 2020, with the theme “Perfect Vision, celebrating the Ilonggo spirit in honor of Senor Santo Nino.”

Not only will the group oversee the much-awaited event in January, but also with key festivals in Iloilo. IFFI vows that Dinagyang 2020 will be a lot ‘bigger and better,’ in match with city’s theme ‘Level Up, Iloilo!”

For one, the organization plans on bringing more events to the public such as Iloilo Dinagyang Arts Festival and Ilonggo Food Festival among many others.

Moreover, the winners of the Ati Tribe Competition will receive bigger prizes compared to the previous years. The Dinagyang 2020 tribe winner will win a total of P5 million, consisting of cash prizes and school project budget; the 1st runner up with P3.5 million; the 2nd runner with P2.25 million; and all participants with P1 million for school projects.

Elected IFFI officials include businessman Rito Carlos “Judgee” Peña as chairman, and Vice Chairman of La Filipina Uygongco Group of Companies, Felipe Uygongco as vice-chairmen. Meanwhile, President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce Iloilo and journalist-lawyer Atty. Jobert Peñaflorida is elected president, while CEO-John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University, Dr. Ronald Raymond Sebastian, serves as vice president.

Taytay Sang Kauswagan, Angel de Leon Jr. sits as the corporate secretary, while Toyota Iloilo, Dr. Roland Uy is the treasurer, and Flexi Care Foundation Inc., Ivy Gurrea as the assistant treasurer.

IFFI’s board of directors includes businessmen Philipp Chua, Honorato Espinosa, Rogelio Florete Sr., Molly Grande, Jose Marie Layson, John Alexander Que, Allan Ryan Tan, and Luis Tinsay.
